"I really enjoyed my stay as a solo traveller. I felt safe in the hotel and the surrounding area, it’s also really convenient to walk to many of the key areas - Carmo Convent, Commercial square, Lisbon Cathedral and Castle. Rossio and Baxio-Chaido metro stations are walkable from the hotel. There are also many good restaurants and bars nearby the hotel. "Staff is friendly and courteous, Boiling water tea coffee 24 hrs is good to have. Room lacks some basic amenities like mirror , dressing table, rooms not well lit . The only mirror they have is inside the toilet. "

"We could not have picked a better hotel from which to explore the idyllic area in and around Sintra. The hotel simply oozes charm, thanks to its venerable age and the high quality of its staff. Staying here is like staying in a hotel from a bygone age. The included breakfast was delicious and abundant. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay here and could have easily stayed longer. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again should we return to the area."

Stay at the palace

"This was the most amazing place we have stayed at. From the beautiful drive fron Lisbon to Sintra, the gates upon arrival, checking in and receiving the cute key. The rooms are unlike anything you will be in, the grounds were magical to wonder around. The breakfast in the morning with the peacocks in the yard. We cant say enough about our stay here."

"I booked this because I thought it was cute but the pictures don't do it justice. I had stayed at a 5 star hotel during my stay in Portugal and I enjoyed this adorable Chalet just as much. The property had so much character and charm and I absolutely loved our room. It was very clean and well decorated. I just loved everything about this stay. Wish I could have stayed longer than one night. Will return someday and stay longer. "
