"Property is situated far from tourist attractions on a secluded, residential block. When we arrived to the property, there was a man standing in the driveway who screamed at and prevented us from entering. Since we had our infant in the car, we found this property’s location too unsafe for our family. The back of the hotel faces a very busy highway. I am confused as to how this is described as 4-star and will be much more cautious when booking future locations based on Expedia’s description...

"This is a beautiful, historic hotel located in an isolated area in the mountains 35 minutes outside of Salerno. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was comfortable, but unfortunately for me and my family it was a little too remote for us. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive from Cava de Tirreni and 35-40 minutes from Salerno. I didn’t realize the distance when we booked the hotel. If you’re looking for a location where there are restaurants and shops close by, this might not be the best...

"A very friendly hotel, with staff who did everything they could to help us, despite the language barrier. It is comfortable, if old fashioned in decor, which we liked. We had expected to be able to get breakfast and a beer or a glass of wine at night, neither of which was available, though you can get non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks and snacks from vending machines in the foyer. The area is basically industrial but is convenient for the Pompeii ruins, which are just a 20 minute walk away."
