"The Commodore has an Old World elegance. Our room was large enough (not spacious but generous) and it was immaculate. The staff members were lovely - helpful and personable. There is a very nice door/outdoor restaurant where the food was delicious and the service excellent. Location wise - it’s about a long city block to the V & A shopping area which offers anything you need in n a safe atmosphere. We enjoyed out stay very much. "

"The property is old! Needs new furniture. Staff is nice and polite, especially the restaurants. The food was excellent, although choice is limited. The travel desk is money hungry. They want to charge R280 for the same adapter for around R50 in the U.S. And most hotels don’t demand that you buy the adapter, either. They charge a trip for $10.0 US that Uber charged around $7.00 US. In addition, one needs a reservation in advance."

"All the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. It's an excellent, low cost hotel thats super convenient for layovers at the airport. Easy walk through safe area, or cheap Uber ride if feeling lazy or have large amount of luggage. Bad reviews are very unfair, as with everything it's all about managing expectations. For the price you simply can't fault this hotel. The food is excellent and great value too. I will definitely stay here again. "

"I felt like I’m staying with wealthy friends who live on a spectacular ocean-view hill, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but who also have professional staff ensuring warm yet perfect hospitality. Delicious full-service breakfast overlooking Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean. Large rooms with shared terraces. Access to a play room in the evening. Secure parking. Friendly and kind staff. "The hotel is conveniently located in the city centre and within walkable distances to many points of interest. Staff is friendly, especially at the restaurant. There are no major issues with the stay but several areas could be improved. First, the double bed was made of two small single beds. It is not very comfortable because of the gap in the middle.
