"2 days here were enough for us to feel relaxed and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were excellent and food was good with a wide variety. As we were hoping to do bird photography and didn’t see many birds amongst the tall trees so we were a little disappointed. "They keep chargeable-if-you-use items inside the room which I have not seen anywhere else in the world. There are bottles of water, beverages kept in the refrigerator in the room, packets of potato chips : all which they said will be payable if used. It was a strange thing to notice. "This place was just ok for a hotel in India. It’s so far up a mountain that access to outside food and drivers are slim, so you are at the hotel’s mercy for pretty much anything. "Budget rooms, allowed for early checkin. There was no airtel mobile network inside the hotel. Airtel has barely any coverage in local sightseeing places. They dont have a restaurant. But very good options at walkable distance. The rest rooms were clean and maintained neatly. Decent budget stay. "

"The hotel is falsely advertised, the view outside was of a wall, the bed was stiff, limited hot water, there was no mini bar as advertised, the curtains didn’t little to block out the light, little toilet paper, the aircon droned on humming the whole time, the walls are thin so you can hear other peoples conversations, showers, phones ringing and people walking up and down stairs. "Staff were friendly, the WiFi was good, the power shower was nice (when there was hot water) and, best of all, the only bar in town is just across the street. But the room needed a good clean, there was no bottled water or toilet paper and Silent Valley is far from silent. Bring earplugs."

"Absolutely gorgeous hotel. The space was extremely comfortable and well decorated. The views are amazing. Only downside is I believed that the cooking presentations were mediocre. I thought they could show how sauces were prepared rather than just assembling a meal."

"We had such a lovely time staying at The Panoramic Getaway. The hotel was spotless and had great amenities. We took advantage of the rooftop pool, restaurants, and Ayurvedic treatments. Arya was invaluable in making recommendations for us, answering our questions, and was a kind, gracious host! Mr. Mount was excellent driver and a true gentleman! We look forward to our next stay!"

"Excellent Staff, Great Food, and a Beautiful View. Front Desk Supervisor Ambu, Food Manager Mathew, Restaurant Manager Vipin, restaurant staff George (Chocolate Maker), and Chef Sabu were all excellent. The shows and activities at the hotel were equally enjoyable for both kids and adults. It’s a great place to stay—home away from home—and our entire 10-member team enjoyed every minute of the stay."

Really good for a remote getaway

"You have to remember that this is a very remote location. On basis of that the food is very good. The setting is amazing so peaceful. The hotel does not sell alcohol, this is not very clear on the description above, so has led to some negative reviews. The food is a buffet which changes each day. There is also a menu for ordering other food instead (which is where most of the non-indian food is). The rooms are very nice. We did not choose the hot tub option. We got a large balcony amongst the trees. There was no one overlooking us, and I think that is the case on most of the rooms. The staff were very friendly. They helped arrange a tour for us. It does seem that most guests arrange their own driver and tours. I would suggest contacting the hotel before for a list of the sites to see nearby (tea plantation, waterfalls, spice gardens, chocolate factories, etc)... The list is a single page and you would be able to plan your own visits with the driver who takes you to the hotel."
