I rarely leave a bad review b/c I like to give people the chance to take accountability for their actions. However, since the owner refuses to communicate or come to a resolution, I will notify potential renters of our experience.To start off, we found mouse droppings under the kitchen sink & in drawers, & there were spiders all through the house. One of the comforters had blood stains on it. We rented this house based on its high rating, which now seems likely to be from friends & family of the owner. I wish I had seen the June 2021 review that mentioned mice. The hot tub was full of mold & mildew as was the upstairs washing machine, sheets were unwashed & smelled bad. We had no choice but to stay as we had driven six hours to get there, & there were fourteen of us all who found the conditions unfavorable. When we contacted the owner, he offered no apologies or refund of any kind. In fact, he just stopped replying to us. For over $2,000 for two nights, we expected, at the very least, basic cleanliness & no pests. The property could be nice, but the lack cleanliness is extremely disappointing & made our stay uncomfortable. Our family rented this house for a very special & rare family reunion & it was negatively impacted due to false advertising. I will also add that communication from the owner was poor. Ignore the high reviews; they are likely fake. My recommendation would be to find somewhere else to stay.
