"We had a little overnight stay at The Grand Hotel in Roker and we weren’t disappointed what a lovely hotel so clean and the staff were absolutely fantastic especially the man on reception!!so friendly nothing was a bother The beds were so comfortable we are booking again in a couple of weeks time without the children this time ha ha "

"I would like to have given 5 star for service as when we ordered food from the bar the staff were attentive, polite and very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. However earlier in the evening I called the restaurant from the room to book a table, when I had only said hello I was met with a very abrupt ‘the line is terrible’ to which I stated ‘I’m sorry I’m calling from one of the phones in the rooms’. I then proceeded to request a table and again very abruptly told we have nothing until 8.30/8.45. I really felt like it was too much trouble and didn’t feel welcomed at all. I booked the table initially for 6 people, we were I fact part of a lager group of around 20 people staying at the hotel for an event we were attending the next day. Having spoke to the other people in the party we decided against it and ate from the bar instead. I would not recommend anyone to book to dine at the restaurant based on this encounter. Also may I add that most of the tables were not occupied from around 7pm until the time we were told we could eat from so I don’t understand why we couldn’t get a reservation either. Very disappointing experience. "

"Lovely stay, but when staying on the ground floor really noisy can hear every conversation and laughter as people come in from a night out so we didn’t sleep well. I actually forgot from last time and should have asked for a room upstairs as we needed to sleep and leave to drive out early. "

"It was my first time in Middlesbrough and I know I chose a lovely hotel to stay in for me and my son, my son who is 15 years old went out every day meeting up with his friends he knows from online games. Excellent hotel & Staff will most definitely recommend and come back and stay again."
