Good Location that’s about it
The hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately the hotel in its self is a bit tired and could do with a make over. The guy at check in was a bit scary.!!

Stromness Stay
Arrived at the hotel and directed to use the car park at rear which is on a steep slope and accessed via very narrow streets. Hotel itself is ok but certainly could do with an upgrade. The hotel wifi which is meant to service all floors couldn't be detected in my room and I had to sit at reception to get an adaquate signal to download my newspaper. About 6.15pm went to book a table for evening meal and this didn't seem a problem for the first member of staff as there were only two us. Second member of staff came over and told us nothing would be available until after 8pm despite the dining room being empty at that time. Went to the Ferry Bar and enjoyed good fare there though. There was a sheet and quilt on the bed too cold with just the sheet and far too hot under the quilt so not a great nights sleep. Buffet self service breakfast in the morning was good with plentiful selection and choice.
Very friendly , quiet , good breakfast . Very close to the Main Street and museum ( def worth a visit !).

Central location, pleasant staff, a little dated
The Stromness Hotel is ideally suited for access to the travel centre, and has great views of the port from the front rooms. While the hotel itself is a little dated, the rooms are sizeable and comfy, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Nice but old
The Stromness Hotel was friendly and clean but is badly in need of refurbishment. Thread bare carpet and just an overall worn look. Horrible orange paint in bathroom. The service was good, but the breakfast was changed without notice from a menu to buffet and rooms were changed on the resturants without notice. The car park was had to get to driving through one track streets and barely enough room to get in the car park. Laundry was done on time and most of staff was friendly.
Ci tornerei volentieri!!!
