"The Host Ben is very responsive and kind. I wanted to experience living among the Ticos and we loved it. This place is unique and cozy for the 4 of us girls. There are some minor upgrades needed but we are so easygoing that it was not a bother. We survived a huge thunderstorm and no power for just a couple hours. The property has 2 cats. Also each bedroom has air conditioning and we enjoyed Netflix in the evening. This area is definitely a surf town and several restaurants walking distance....

"This place was great. Though Avellanas Beach was a short walk from the property, it felt secluded and remote. I could hear howler monkeys in the trees, which was cool. The house was gated and felt safe and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. I would gladly visit again."

"First off, the pictures don't do justice to the interior decorations. The paint is not that garish in real life, the orange and green will not burn your eyes out, and the surfboards mounted on walls with high ceilings look great. The hosts left a little gift bag of coffee & wine to get started. I needed to go next the shop next door to pick up coffee filters & a corkscrew, but that was a minor detail. "The house was very spacious, clean, and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The pool and cabana area was our favorite hangout spot. We opted in for additional services like a private chef and daily maid which were well worth the cost and the stsff eas friendly and very accommodating. The location is perfect as it is quaint and just a short gilf cart drive or walk to most places. My only complaint is that the curtsins could be better and the mattresses were not the most comfortable."

"We stayed here for my Wifes 50th and invited some friends and family to stay with us, we had a total of 21 people at the property and still felt like we had plenty of space. The dirt road leading up to the entrance to the property was a little rough, and some of our guests could not comfortably do the walk up and down, I strongly suggest renting a golf cart (Which we did) but it's still pretty rough, even with a cart. The house keepers were amazing and cooked a great breakfast daily! "

"Overall I thought it was great, the location was about a mile and a half to Tamarindo, but that’s okay I like walking. The food was good too, I wish they had more variety during dinner at the grill though. It was mostly pork chops every time I went. They had steak and chicken two days, I was there for 7 days. Overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back. "

"The property was definitely unique and beautiful. Service was very good if you leave small tips every day. We ran out of cash one day and the bed was not quite made up)). Quite nice breakfast but not too special. Beautiful swimming pool with a bit of insects now and then. Kitchen counters were not cleaned well enough on arrival. Matress on the bed was ok, but don’t expect Marriott quality. For 3 of us we had the whole bungalow which was fabulous, our daughter had the second floor. It looks better in real life than their pictures. Conveniently located to the beach and restaurants. Wear a hat and be prepared to cover your nose when walking to the beach - the road is very dusty."

"We strongly recommend this property for families looking to visit Tamarindo. The room was impeccably clean with a very powerful air conditioning unit. Water pressure on both the shower and toliet were a bit lacking but still usable. We stayed on a Thursday night and had no noise problems (though it may be a problem on Friday night when their weekly parties are). We felt very safe as the front gate is closed (but it of course can be opened if you arrive late) and monitored by a security guard during the night. Breakfast was made to order (4 pre-set options) and substantial. The hotel is a short walk away from the center of town (no continuous sidewalks but did not feel particularly unsafe as long as we were careful) and across the street from the beach. "
