I would recommend a stay here if you are looking for Macaws. Unfortunately, we were cut short in our stay this time. The drive from LA Fortuna was a rough 5-1/2 hours and my niece became ill. "We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cerró Lodge. The staff were amazing and made sure that we enjoyed our time. They booked us on a bird and crocodile tour on the Rio Tárcoles that I would certainly recommend. The pizza we had for dinner was delicious. Rooms very clean and comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. I look forward to visiting again!"

"Overall Villa Lapas Jungle Resort was a good place to stay. We had 2 rooms with breakfast, but did not pay for the all inclusive stay because we are vegetarian and don’t drink alcohol. Positives: 1. Front reception staff, restaurant, and housekeeping are all very nice. 2. The setting is beautiful and well designed facilities. 3. The playground was great for our grandson. This was a huge plus. 4. "My stay at this hotel was horrendous. First, upon first entrance the room looks normal. However, though the bed was made, upon settling for bed, I discovered that the sheets and pillows were unclean and smelled. My skin has been itching me since. Additionally, there were no soaps available and I had to buy my own soap (which I left at the hotel).
