"The Pousada Palácio stay was a highlight of our travels. The refurbished palace, with its beautiful sitting rooms, chapel and dining area took us back in time. In contrast, the rooms and pool area were modern and well appointed. The staff was fantastic! Started with a tour of the property and help with parking and luggage. "My room was spacious but dark although that was not an issue as I came in to unwind and didn't want bright lights. The bed was fantastic, just like mine at home, so I slept really well. I think it helped that the old style wooden window shutters closed tightly each night so there were no chinks of light even if the sun was rising.
