The wonder of Termessos is an ancient city built into the mountains near Antalya. At its highest point it reaches 5,462 feet (1,665 meters), dwarfing the surrounding mountains. It is said that Alexander the Great failed in his attempt to conquer the towering city. However, you can now visit both the ancient city and the national park for a fee. The park is open from morning until evening, with an earlier closing time in the winter season.
Termessos is located 20 miles (32.2 kilometers) northwest of Antalya. Rent a car to enjoy the scenic 1-hour journey through mountains and valleys. Buses and tour coaches take passengers to the ancient city.
