However upon check-in, we learned that we were not staying in the main (historic) hotel, but a side property across the road. "We stayed here on our way out from Austin to Balmorhea Springs. We got there late and got graced with one of the starriest skies I've ever seen and spotted more meteors than I'd ever seen! Woke up to a gorgeous mountain view, and was sad to drive off... until I got to the the Springs, of course. Highly recommended! Would love to return."

"This property is the cleanest I have ever rented and that is remarkable considering the gravel road which accesses it and the arid/semi-arid environment it exists within. "This is such a lovely property! So peaceful on the patio in the mornings and evenings. Getting to pet the owner's horses was a bonus, too! Super fast communication for any needs from the host. Split bedrooms make it perfect for couples. Close to the main street in town but still 'away'. Highly recommend for a trip to Ft. Davis!"

"We were a little skeptical when we saw the outside, but the inside is amazing. It is beautifully decorated, spacious & very comfortable. Since there were only two is us we only used the front bedroom. It was large with a sitting area & very comfortable bed. We loved the bathroom with its colorful tile & the kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals. We highly recommend this rental if you are staying in the area."
