"Villa Ulivi is a brand new B & B set up in a beautiful rural area of Basilica. The hosts were extremely helpful despite our language differences and went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable stay in this wonderful new build villa which is no more than 200m from the SS648 and well positioned for either Potenza to the south or Melfi to the north. And they said that the person doesn't work the month of August, isn't that busy season.why would I go halfway up a mountain to stay with nothing to do and don't help you with anything.very disappointed."

"This is a very tranquil place to stay, nestled in beautiful hills with some very pleasant nearby towns--in particular, Sicignano degli Alburi. "We were looking for an out of the way quiet apartment to base a month trip to Italy. I had heard about Calitri from a House Hunters International show on HGTV. The people of the town were lovey....friendly and welcoming to us. I orginally was not going to have a car but I think it would have been very difficult to be in this town with a car to explore surrounding areas. Host was super quick to respond with questions we had. All in all a great month! "

"Super hotel in a great location - very nice sized rooms, great views of the mountains - really friendly staff, nice food and good service. Bed was v comfortable, room was very clean and the air con was a must in the very hot temperature."
