Roxie's retreat - A cute, well maintained 3 bedroom home, central location

Thank you for visiting our property and our smoke free environment. This is a well maintained home which we are preparing for the vacation/travellers market. We'd love to get your feedback as we just purchased this property and are new to this. This home is bright, modern, cozy and in a charming neighbourhood, located on the outskirts of downtown Victoria. There are 2 bedrooms on the main, and a third in the basement. There is also additional carpeted areas which would be suitable for foamies or other temporary bedding. Uptown & Tillicum shopping centre, Pearkes Arena, Silver City movie theatre are just minutes away. The home is steps from the Galloping Goose Bike/walk path. A 25 minute bike ride along this beautiful trail - a bikers paradise - and you are downtown. Or take the Lochside trail and explore the country side out to Sidney. Easy vehicular access to the Pat Bay Highway or the Island Highway. Back yard is fully fenced and secure. There is also a semi-detached garage for parking, and a BBQ on the back deck.
This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, pets permitted.
A cozy 3 bedroom home, with a fenced back yard. Situated between Uptown and Tillicum Mall, along the Galloping Goose Trail (biking and walking trail). Close to Victoria General Hospital and the Pearkes Recreational Centre. Excellent bus connections to downtown or the western communities. I needed a place to stay until the sale closed on my home, Roxies Retreat was THE answer to my problem. It's very clean and homey, also comfortable enough that your well behaved pets will also feel at home. It was sparkling clean and Anthony is very available should you need help.

We loved our stay here. We come up twice a year to see family. This was the best place we have stayed. Anthony is right across the street and very friendly and helpful. The house was well stocked, kitchen had some pantry staples that came in handy. If you have a disability or need to know… there is two small steps to get in the front door but otherwise is really accessible the bathroom has a bar in the shower for support. Beds are comfortable just know the third bed is a pull out couch but in its own room. We will stay here again! Especially in summer when we can use the beautiful big back yard.

Lovely small bungalow in a great location in Victoria. You need to have a car, though. Clean through-out. More wine glasses would have been nice but that is nit-picking. Anthony came to greet us which was nice. Would stay again.

The property was very nice with a good sized backyard for my little dog to run around in... it was nice having access to a washer/dryer... the property was close to major roads - but not so close that it was noisy... the property owner was very friendly and greeted me on arrival.

This property provided our family with a homelike experience. All of the amenities were as described and very well supplied. The layout of the home was comfortable and the quality of workmanship in the renovation was top shelf. Good location and clean quiet house. Close to Uptown Mall and the excellent Browns Social house. However, host did not respond to phone or text requests and waited until morning of for driving and entry directions. Last minute communication was very upsetting!

Positive overall, deck and cleanliness need attention
4 out of 5. Our family stayed at Anthony’s for a week and overall, our experience was positive. We had the entire property to ourselves but it is only one house away from Tillicum Rd, so there was some minor traffic noise. Communication with Anthony was excellent and he responded quickly. He greeted us when we arrived but gave us privacy during the rest of our stay. This older house appears generally well maintained and the kitchen is well stocked. It has new windows, good appliances, comfortable beds and an updated bathroom, but that is about the extent of the upgrades. We did have a couple of issues: the condition of the deck and cleanliness. First and foremost, the deck is rotting and has a wobbly railing, so it is clearly at the end of its lifespan. Also, the home could benefit from a deep cleaning. There were crumbs/dirt in the bottom corners of the kitchen drawers, cupboards and fridge, the BBQ grill was dirty, a few of the windows and their screens were very dirty, there were several cobwebs in one of the bedrooms, and the bathroom baseboards were dusty. Lastly, one of the tables in the back yard was covered with bird droppings and required cleaning before use. It didn’t affect our stay, but the floors are creaky and there is a mish mash of old furniture and décor, some of it with minor damage. Some updates would serve it well. Only the first few rolls of TP are provided, but there is a grocery store nearby. Not bad overall, but we'd stay elsewhere next time.

Summer on vancouver island
We head to Roxys for our yearly stay and to experience island life and always love it. The house and host make sure we can’t wait to get back. Fantastic House and Location
We really enjoyed our stay with Anthony. He was super fantastic from start to finish. The house was lovely and very clean. We had everything we needed, with ample towels and bedding. It was a hotter week there, so there were plenty of fans, which was much appreciated. The bike trail was a real treat and is just down the road. It's just out of the way of the busy city, but a very short drive to downtown. Both our small dogs stayed with us and loved the backyard. Very pet-friendly home.
