The village of Villar d'Arène, at 1650m altitude, is located near La Grave - La Meije / Le Chazelet (family ski resort + large famous off-piste domain) and its shops, the Lautaret passes and the Galibier (limit between Hautes-Alpes and Savoie) and on the edge of the GR54 and the Ecrins National Park. It is located between Les Deux-Alpes and Serre-Chevalier / Briançon.
