"My husband & I are renovating our forever home in Ocean View & needed somewhere to lay our heads at night. John’s yurt more than met the criteria. From being spotlessly clean to wonderfully decorated we couldn’t have asked for more. If I had to find fault with anything it was the large set of stairs one must climb to access the yurt (although John & his grandson are there upon your arrival to assist with your luggage, also upon checking out), & the bathroom is not physically attached to the yurt. Neither of these were mentioned in the description. However, we simply lived our stay & will be recommending it to all our friends & family who come to see us when we don’t have room. "

"Here you will find a home surrounded by a beautiful garden with a very large covered deck overlooking the ocean to the west. Stunning sunrises, warm breezes, and a canopy of stars and the Milky Way at night uninhibited by city lights. The home is as described, but more. Comfortable, welcoming and everything you would need. For us, the location was ideal - away from the popular beaches, tourist shops, etc. Here you are close to The Volcanic National Park and many “gem” locations listed in travel guides. This is Kau coffee country (look up the history of the emergence of Kau coffee and Kona coffee). We enjoyed farm/fruit stands, local markets, and wonderful local places to eat and find local artist creations. The aloha spirit was so welcoming as we talked with locals. "I only stayed one night, but it was perfect. The location is walking distance to the Black Sand beach and the unit we stayed in had a lovely patio with a view of the ocean. Everything was clean and the property was very quiet."

"This locale was a welcome change from all the action in Kona. Out of the way but within a long half hour drive to Volcano National Park. Nearby town has twice weekly market and great Bakery. Be aware that the condos are the only remains of a golf resort. No AC in units but plenty of fans and the ocean breeze cools things off at night. Nice pool and hot tub with a view of ocean and two nice barbeque grills. A few minutes walk to famous black sand beach with turtles. Best visited in early morning or evening. Snorkeling depends on the wind. Overall we loved it. Price was good, possibly due to being a little more removed from major cities and services. We had our own snorkeling gear but they had two sets of good gear, beach chairs and cooler. We would definitely stay here again. Makala. "
