It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the town centre. Nice comfy clean and well maintained room. Very effective heating (which we turned down for sleeping!) on a bitterly cold February weekend. There's a limited number of free customer (non bookable) car parking spaces at the front of the building. Might not be suitable for early to bed/light sleepers due to some pre midnight music heard from the busy bar area beneath the bedrooms. Disabled guests should note that there's no lift,...

Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. Next morning - breakfast was great - although there was no 'bacon' for us - the server compensated by offering us additional sausages - so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "

"Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff."
