"We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "The weather was very bad, ice and snow. Log burners in hotel helped my mood on arrival. The hotel has good parking and the staff very helpful, evening meal very good and also breakfast was excellent. Room and bathroom was well sized and all clean and comfortable. Cannot think of anything negative. Apart from the weather. Will stay there again next time I need a hotel in the area."

"Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff."
