Can't beat the price and location, but "drab" is the best way to describe the rooms. If you don't care about the smells and sounds of your neighbors, and need a stay that is affordable and in a convenient area around D.C, then I would recommend staying at The Beacon.

Beware! They stick you with a $40 per night "facility" fee. A little grift used to have them come up when you search a certain price point on the app. Otherwise the place is okish. Not the cleanest but in good walking distance to things.

I booked 3 rooms for a night on Jan 6,2025 but then the snowstorm comes Jan 5 night, we can’t travel. I understand the police is non-refundable but because of the bad weather, we couldn’t travel. I didn’t try to get refunded, some credit for next time will be ok but then I got nothing just keep saying the policy is non-refundable. I can’t travel also didn’t come to stay and loose all the booked money. Terrible travel new year start.

The hotel is old carpet was dirty first room refrigerator broke second room no refrigerator at all had to put one in there room is small bathroom wall paper peeling off and brown rotted and no towels called and never gotten them… then on top of it the two night I was there it sounded like a party in the hallway all night…. It was terrible

To echo off of some of the other reviews, the interior does seem a little old. Even so, it had all the essentials and was very clean. The reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is because there were a few things missing when I first arrived, such as handsoap. The staff were very nice in sending someone up to deliver some. My room also came with a kitchenette which was I did not expect but I'm very grateful of. The kitchenette didn't come with a sponge or dish soap, only the detergent for the dishwasher. That alone would be fine if I had more dishes per day, but I barely used a few utensils and it's not worth a whole run. The room came with the coffee maker but it was very tiny and it would've been nice to have tea bags like other hotels. TLDR, the staff were wonderful and the room had most things any hotel would provide. There were some things missing here and there but the staff were great in accommodating with that. My job also paid for this trip so money wasn't a factor for me.

The hotel does not look like the pictures. It is extremely dated. While the room was clean, the bathroom was tiny and felt unclean because of the peeling wallpaper, dirty grout and outdated hardware and cabinetry. It was very difficult to sleep because the windows didn’t block any sound. Also, people are inconsiderate and slam doors at all hours. One night I asked for disposable silverware or just a fork from the restaurant to use. I needed 2. The lady in the restaurant gave me one set of disposable and refused to give me another because “they are for to go orders”. The restaurants were empty. All of the front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel needs to do a major overhaul.
