Ocean View Beach House in the Sand Dunes on Monterey Bay

This ocean view beach house is located in the sand dunes on Monterey Bay with a full view of the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Pajaro Valley on the other. There are decks on both sides of the house. A short trail (no road to cross) leads to the miles of sandy beach. The house is inside the Pajaro Dunes gated community with 24 hour security and common area walking/biking trails, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball court. The house is fully furnished with a complete kitchen, linens and towels and all the latest board games to enjoy in front of the gas fireplace. The kids can play without worry of cars inside Pajaro Dunes Community (no roads are between the house & the beach) Unfortunately, the Pajaro Dunes Community does not permit any guest pets.

The house location is in the center of Monterey Bay between Carmel/Monterey and Santa Cruz. San Francisco is 100 miles to the north; San Jose/Silicon Valley is less than an hour away. The closest golf is 5 minutes away and the famous courses in Monterey are less than 30 minutes away. Monterey aquarium and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk are within 1/2 hour drive. World renowned bird watching and kayaking at Elkhorn Slough is 10 minutes away in Moss Landing.

Beach Trip With Friends
Overall an awesome experience and a beautiful little house on the dunes! The railings on the stairs were wide enough for our kids to fit through so just a little heads up for parents with small children. Also, the bbq is charcoal so if you plan to grill, be sure to plan accordingly.

Perfect for a respite with girlfriends
The house was perfect for our stay. Beautiful views from both sides of the house. The house was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on both decks while viewing the ocean on the west side and the slough and hills to the east. The slough was teeming with activity! Even saw a seal checking out the breakfast options during high tide. Egrets and herons usually always present. 3 very comfortable bedrooms and 3 nice bathrooms. Perfect. The kitchen was great. Very easy to find what we needed as well as nice pots and pans. I wanted to mention to anyone who is considering this house, there are lots of stairs from either parking lot to the door. This means you have to carry all your belongs and groceries etc up and down the stairs. I knew this ahead because I read the description of the property and looked at all the photos. We kept our carrying bags smaller and used smaller coolers. And got some great exercise! A very short walk to the beach from the house. We saw dolphins, otters, seals, and so many different types of shore birds. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely beach getaway!
We have stayed at Pajaro a few times in the smaller 1-2BR condos, but this time we were two families with 3 kids total. This was perfect for a slightly larger group and the easy access large porch(es), and views were amazing.

Lots of stairs
It’s a beautiful place but lots of stairs my kids and elderly parents had trouble with climbing up and down the steps in the front of the house only way to access the house and also the steep stairs in the house home was pretty dirty and garbage is were completely full and falling out onto the ground, which the owner did take care of after I pointed it out but not sure it was cleaned before our arrival due to cobwebs and stains on the pillows that we had a good time I just wouldn’t recommend it for a little children or elderly unless you don’t mind the stairs

Peaceful with Beautiful Views
This place was great for my husband and me, our adult children and their significant others. The property was clean and in a nice area, and the kitchen had pretty much anything you would need to cook besides food. The short walk to the non crowded beach was great! We loved that it was away from the traffic of Monterey, however, because of the traffic, it did take us longer to get to destinations near and past Monterey.

June stay for a week
Overall very pleasant and comfortable stay with family members including 3 seniors. The layout of the house is good but you have to be able to navigate stairs. Excellent access to the beach and you can still enjoy the ocean air and views from the spacious deck or from the living room. The house is well-equipped. We liked that there were 3 bathrooms. A thumbs-up all around!

Awesome little beach house with room for everyone.
We took a family vacation to the beach and Monterey Bay Aquarium. The kids loved being so close to the beach and being able to see the ocean from the back patio. The outdoor shower was amazing after walking back and it’s warm water!

We enjoyed our stay and this beach house. There was plenty of space for our family and we appreciated three separate bedrooms and bathrooms a lot. The views all the way around are beautiful. The weather was chilly and rainy so we appreciated being able to stay indoors and still see the ocean. The proximity to redwood forests/hiking as well as nearby towns was convenient. I would love to return some day!

We had a lovely stay. The house was great. The only issue we had was that the picture from the back beach facing made it seem as though there was a ramp leading to the 4 stairs on the beach side. And, with everything accessible on the top floor seemed perfect for our elderly mom. So, we thought we would be able to push her wheelchair rt up to those steps. So, that was a bit misleading and was quite a challenge getting her in & out of the house everyday. We did manage, but it is not wheelchair/cart friendly at all. We should have asked, because that meant we had to carry all of our gear by hand & not use any helpful carry carts. But, it is a lovely house.

I love the beach, but now I love the dunes. This was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever taken. The house was in a perfect location. I could see the ocean, i could hear the ocean and I knew I could get to the sand in a minute. The house is super cute. We try new places every year but I vote to come back here. The dunes have spoiled me. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

House and property exactly as described. Beautiful and peaceful location. Partial view of the ocean at the back of the house. Could hear the ocean from the house nicely. The view of the farmland and mountains from the front of the house was unexpectedly stunning, pictures do not do it justice! The walk to the beach was less than 1 minute, I walked it barefoot several times. We went mid June and the beach was barely populated. The weather was calm in the morning and then the wind would pick up quite a bit by noon. One of the days we were there it was only mildly windy. The beach was beautiful and VERY clean. We played basketball at the community area one day. The community facilities were very nice. The equipment for the basketball, tennis courts, volleyball etc was kept in a small storage arena that wasn't well labeled, but we found it. At the house, there was a cabinet with many games by the phone, built into the counter area. There was corn hole equipment, but we couldn't find any of the sacks to throw. There was a somewhat odd smell in the closets and sometimes rooms. I would definitely come back to this house again with my family. My husband and I would also definitely return to Pajaro Dunes Community to a smaller house or condo with just the 2 of us.

Breathtaking
This location was so healing. Watching whales in the evening and porpoises in the morning. All from rocking chairs on the back deck. A short, private path to a beautiful beach was absolutely incredible. The house is so perfect and we appreciate everything the owners had to offer in their communications. I very much look forward to planning another stay at this wonderful location.
