"I love everything about this hotel, very unique and charming, with the exception of a heavy rain storm that managed to hit the air conditioning unit like a ton of rocks all night long… Lol other than that, the hotel and staff are absolutely wonderful. We were not given a choice of rooms as we checked in, although online when we book the room, we thought we booked the Grange room. Having not seen the Grange room except in a photograph online, and then having the fortuitous experience of seeing it...

"Very unique, well-maintained Victorian inn. Lovely and very helpful inn keeper, who was on-site when we checked in and out. Coffee and snacks provided and convenience of using and storing food in the kitchen. The Tapestry room which we booked was the only room on the first floor and right next to the dining/sitting rooms. So not as private but the room was well appointed including the bathroom/shower."

"Great location and clean property. These are the tiny houses near a riverside, the views and beauty is serene. Owner was responsive, however, we needed extra bedding but didn’t get them for the night. Turns out I did not use an after hours line, so you want to be careful when you call. Some basic supplies like coffee, sugar, oil in the house would have been nice. There’s no grocery near by."

"My wife and I were looking for a place that wasnt too far from the redwoods. This was almost a 2 hour drive but the scenery was awesome. We also checked out the local towns one day and those were great too. At the end of the night we were able to have a fire in the wood burner and get toasty warm. For what we were looking for, the place was great!"

"Nice property with plenty of parking. Especially for boats if your in the area to enjoy fishing Lake Trinity. Only about 25 minutes from the lake. Private and secure. The cabin has everything you need. The host was awesome and ready to help with anything you might need. Will definitely be back."

"Matthew's River Estate is a dream if you enjoy fishing, spending time in the river, views, making food with friends and family, outdoor living, and extreme comfort. The quality of the linens were amazing (always important to me) and the kitchen and great room were perfect for hosting and entertaining 10 people. With ease I might add! The outdoor living and fireplace area is fantastic and if it wasn't so warm, we would have stayed out there all day! Highly recommend 10/10. Will enjoy again."
