"Was left over chinese takeaway in fridge. Bed sheets were disgusting, lots of hairs and stains. Cups were unwashed. Decking was so slippy, green molud, nearly had a bad fall. Fold away chairs in main bedroom which seems to be from outside had spider nets. We came home after being there few hours and was meant to stay 4 nights. We were so disappointed, angry, deflated as saved up our hard earned cash for our 4 nights away and ended us coming home before we should have. "

"Lovely quiet village, ideal location for walkers and dogs, no shops in Portinscale only 1 pub and a cafe. We stayed in apartment- and ate at pub in Portinscale only a 15 minute walk into Keswick lovely walk. Apartment clean , everything you need . The building is Victorian, plenty of room in apartment set in lovely grounds. It is dated, and the hall entrance could do with repainting and new carpets to make it more inviting for guests. We initially couldn’t get the heating to work, but this was...

Great for a short break

"Just a one night stop over in the city. Hotel next to railway station so a good location. Generally very clean but parts of room whilst clean were a little tired. Ie bathroom could do with an upgrade, windows could be improved. My friends had breakfast and thought it was excellent but I don’t eat breakfast. I would certainly return if in the area."
