"The Grand is an iconic hotel with lots of character, but is now looking a little tired in places…chipped paint, thick layers of paint, dented wood / door frames, worn carpets (in high traffic areas), dated bathrooms..etc, hence there is a multi million pound refurbishment plan in place…to bring it back into the spotlight as the top hotel in Brighton. But the rooms are of good size, huge beds, everything is of good quality and the staff are excellent, from the very curtious door staff to the breakfast crew. We have been coming here for years and particularly like the atmosphere at Christmas, with the enormous Christmas tree and decorated spiral bannister…"

Be aware that there really isn’t any food service between breakfast & dinner. We had planned to get lunch at the hotel after checkout, before heading into London, but then discovered there was no restaurant open."
