"The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Service is very good. The double room was very clean and tidy. Also quite, though you do, as someone else has mentioned previously, hear the church bells. Have to say it was not a problem for me. The room was very comfortable, a lovely view along Church Lane and across the stone cottages. It has the usual room facilities. The bathroom facilities were very good, especially the shower, as it was one of the few that I have used in hotels that did not leak onto the floor. Breakfast was continental style, quite large to be honest and includes local produce. The evening/dining food is very good, the food is fabulous. It was noted that the local residents go there to eat too. Plenty of car parking. Its a quite location well off the A303. Easy access to the two main museums locally, but also to other places of interest as well. The local village Queen Camel is also delightful, with its stone cottages. Very little traffic, so quite during the day as well as at night. Definitely would go back."

"What a wonderful stay at the Royal Lion. We only stayed for the one night but we made the most of it by booking a table in the restaurant for dinner which was lovely. Plenty of delicious options to chose from. The hotel has ple tu of parking and conveniently right in the centre of lyme regis so an easy stroll to the beach and around the shops. There is a pool but unfortunately you have to book a time slot and all they had available was during our dinner reservation. If we were able to book in we definitely would have used this. One note to make is that we had a room at the front of the hotel which i love (i love to people watch) but i think there was bin men or a delivery very early in the morning so was very noisy. The hotel 2as clean and the room beautiful. Also want to note how lovely the staff were. Very impressed and would love to stay again. "

"Nice hotel. My only complaint would be it's distance from Taunton town centre. It was a £10+ taxi journey each way if you don't have your own car, and very little close by within walking distance, other than a Harvester restaurant. Although there is a Sainsbury's and a cinema/bowling alley a short drive or medium walk away."

"Absolutely Brilliant! Quiet hotel, staff were really friendly and went above and beyond for us! Rooms so super clean and fresh! The only issue I found was that the room was HOT and being on the ground floor I couldn’t leave the window open as they have no safety catch! Food was superb and we will all be coming back again! "

"This was an excellent place to not only stay, but to also eat as it is a must wonderful public house as well. Everything was 5 star from check in, the wonderful comfortable room, the excellent food for dinner, and the delicious breakfast served by a very professional lady, unfortunately I didnt get her name. Hayley who was on hand running the dinner service the night before was very friendly and lovely too."
