The Golden Triangle is well known in Denver for its high-quality mix of museums, restaurants and bars. Found just to the south of the city centre, the area is bordered by Colfax Avenue, Broadway and Speer Boulevard. Eight different cultural and historical institutions can be found within these bounds, including Denver Art Museum, Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art and Clyfford Still Museum.Byers-Evans House Museum looks at the difficulties faced by the tough early settlers in this area, while the newly opened History Colorado Centre offers further insight into the area's past. You can easily spend a large part of your time in Denver between these fantastic museums, but whichever you choose to visit, make sure not to miss the area's centrepiece: the Denver Art Museum.This is a pleasantly bustling part of the city, with a great choice of coffee shops, pubs, eateries, intimate boutiques and high-quality galleries. It is also a historical part of Denver, being home to a number of buildings from the city's early days towards the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th. Mixed in with this is the imposing new 18-storey Prado building.South Broadway is the place to be for fashionistas, offering a diverse mix of fashion from edgy independent shops to high-end emporiums, as well as a number of elegant restaurants.Meanwhile, Colfax Avenue offers lots of high-quality music and book shops, alongside boutiques and cafés. Later on, you can dance the night away in the South of Colfax Nightlife District.
