" Enjoyed our two night stay. Excellent location, not too far from the railway station and close to the lake/promenade There were features of an 'old grandeur', many of which I quite appreciated. "This was a lovely hotel in Kandersteg. This is located beside the gondola station and the walking path for the hike to lake. "Perfect location for visiting Chillon Castle. And the hotel itself is full of history, retaining its bel epoque charm. Loved it! Their special 4 course dinner is completely worth it. One warning though... use the bus or taxi to get there. Otherwise you are hoofing it up a super steep hill to reach the hotel."

"We stayed in the week of the transition, owners taking over the management after a leasing of the property. So, we experienced some of the service issues that one can naturally expect when a new management is arriving. Nevertheless the staff was excellent and predisposed to overcome all those difficulties. Otherwise the location is good and with an outstanding view of the Alps. Overall a very good stay."

"We were able to check in early, which was a big plus. Plenty of parking was available. Food at the restaurant was good. Communication was a bit of a challenge, since we spoke English and the staff mostly spoke French but there was a man at the bar/restaurant who spoke English. The elevator is a bit small and the winding road to drive to the hotel was a challenge but the place is beautiful up in the mountains."
