"I love Hotel Allen but feel it is desperately in need of money being spent on it ie new paint, refurbishment etc. When it rained the window leaked on to the single bed in my room so I'm happy there was nobody sleeping in that bed. But otherwise it was quiet, clean, excellent location, enjoyed swimming in the pool. If I had the money I'd buy it myself, sitting on a gold mine in the location etc"

"The Mercure Townsville is a lovely family-friendly hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room, which was extremely comfortable and great for our short stay. The room was quiet and provided all amenities; tea, coffee and toiletries. The room was clean and beds comfotable. My daughter and I enjoyed dinner at the Celsius restaurant. "Such a beautiful spot tucked inside nature. The cabin we booked had some small issues which I presume came from wear and tear but at the price, they should be sorted. The bathroom and toilet doors were stiff and hard to manipulate. The AC/heater was so frustrating to operate. The fan switch didnt work properly. "Nice location, enjoyed walks along the waterfront, relaxing pool, cabin was comfortable with nice, quality bathroom supplies. Only let down was that the fire alarm decided to go off during the middle of the night for no apparent reason. "

"Dont stay here unless you like walking a hill climb with your luggage as you cant park even close to your room. As for the restaurant it was very clean and looked nice but approximately half the items listed on the menu were unavailable, this was on a Saturday night, very very disappointing. Paid for 2 nights and left after 1, that tells the story. "

"Super comfy bed, convenient location close to all amenities, friendly staff, only complaint is that the iron in my room was old, needed cleaning and burnt my shirt as it stuck to the fabric (old iron surface), otherwise I will definitely stay here again"

"What I didn't like was that there is no railings in the pool to help the older generation with arthritis out of pool. I wanted to go for a swim, but didn't because I knew I wouldn't be able to get out."
