"Very friendly staff. Some room furniture could do with a bit of updating. Need a swimming hat to use the pool which was a little on the chilly side but not too bad. Restaurant/bar staff very busy. Could do with a bit more help but they remained very calm and polite. Food good and plenty of it."

"The only things I will mention are these; The first night I stayed in a room that faced the same direction of the entrance and a very noisy street, many vehicles passing and revelers. The next day the staff were very helpful to relocate me to a quite room. The only other remark is the pillows are hard and too thick for a skinny soft pillow guy like me. Sorry one more comment, I know alot of effort has been put into details but the rooms are somewhat over priced, I will consider other options...

"A lovely, grand old hotel, that is showing her age just a wee little bit. My room wasn’t anything special, but it was very comfortable and clean, and the hotel’s location can’t be beat. After all, it’s only a couple hundred meters from the high street, and it’s right along the river near the falls and walking paths… and donkeys!"

"We loved the Western. The location was amazing. We walked to all the shopping, attractions and pubs. Our room had amazing views and was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our last night we spent in the hotel pub and they had the most amazing musicians playing and singing. We really enjoyed this and wanted to stay longer. We hope to stay here again someday. Thank you for such a great time!!!"

"Nice hotel with a good breakfast and cute garden for groups to gather. Did not realize it was not walkable to historic Galway but was close to several bus lines. "

"This is a very nice hotel, with very generous sized rooms and comfortable beds. It is a little bit dated. It did not have, for example, USB ports for charging your devices, and the shower was a little bit odd. Otherwise the amenities were very nice. The bar and restaurant were excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. They were not cheap, but were decent value. "
