5 Star Hotels in Chinatown, Singapore

"As stated above the hotel calls it self a 5* hotel. Which it is not. More like a 3.5*. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is 5*. The beds are comfortable. Small fridge was handy. Plus water purification was excellent to have. But a few small quirks that change my mind about staying again. When you leave and come back all the lights turn on in the room. Plus the AC unit sets the temp at 24C. So when you get back from being hot a sweaty all day you don't get a chance to cool off. ...

"The property itself is very interesting , playing a unique role as Singapore's first Post Office. It is a low rise gem sitting right on the river and the hop on bus route. The food in the Straits Club was excellent and Sahul and his team were most welcoming and helpful. We had a grat stay."

"The Mandarin Oriental Singapore is probably one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. This was my second visit, and once again, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is also excellent - easily accessible from the airport, and if you’re comfortable using public transportation, you can walk through the shopping malls and convention centre behind the hotel to reach a subway station. One of the highlights for me was the pool—having an evening swim while enjoying the stunning...

"Easy 5 min walk to the waterfront, as hotel is about 2 blocks away from front. Interestingly one of the side roads near front of hotel does get closed for ‘Satay Street’ where the nearby undercover market expands for street food, which is a good experience and good place to eat!! This event doesn’t affect your stay inside the hotel where even with this going on outside, it is not going to keep you up and disturb your sleep etc!!"

"Great central location with east access to MRT City Hall station and local attractions. Rooms are great size, clean and moderns with perfect amenities. Breakfast has sufficient choices so suit all however table and buffet and table layout is a little chaotic and narrow from corridor like feel from reception to restaurant to separate room for salad and fruit and asian hot food which wasn't noticed immediately. Overall however would recommend this stay to anyone visiting Singapore. "
