"Overall acceptable, rooms nice and beds comfortable, pillows a little too squishy. Bathroom dilapidated with shower gel bottle detached from the wall and quite a few spots of black mould in the grouting. Breakfast was good, excellent choice of continental and cooked items and for once a decent hotel coffee. Men’s toilets near breakfast area needs work and toilet rolls just placed on the floor. I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay again."

"The staff were friendly and accommodating My only complaint was I was initially given a bedroom with a connecting door to another bedroom. The door meant sounds from the adjoining room could be heard quite clearly from my room. We went to reception to request a room change and this was accommodated"

"Amazing art deco building which looks to have been recently renovated we were fortunate to be in a room located in the original building thats was clean comfortable and great facilties, staff were all very pleasant and accommodating good location for a short trip into St Albans if i had to find a fault it would only have been the location of the staff room next to our room which had the door banging continuously in the early hours, but its an old building so perhaps sound proofing not great in...

"Never been to Watford (from US) but took a chance. Turned out to be an amazing place. Cool old UK pub and above, modern chic rooms. Ann Maria was the bartender and hotel host and she was outstanding and a hoot. She treated us like family from the moment she met us. Sean the manager treated us the exact same way. Brought my daughter, son and son in law to the pub and they loved it as well. Walking distance to Watford Junction station and a great little coffee spot called Viento just around the...
