"Surprised how outdated the thunderbird was, considering the price per night & according to notice on the door they command 500/night at some point. Absolutely not handicap or senior friendly. No elevators, numerous stair cases & most require a keycard to pass thru. No drop off parking so you can unload luggage. No microwave & frig did not have freezer section to refreeze ice packs. Expected more considering the room cost "

"I loved our little cabin. I wish the room had a microwave tho. We brought soups to eat so we wouldn’t have to eat out every meal. It was very cold so to be able to heat up our soups would have been nice. The restaurants at the hotels are in my opinion not very good. It was snowing and didn’t want to drive. I would stay here again tho, and prepare better on the food situation! Everything else was great. Being that close to rim trail and being able to walk everywhere was convenient. "

"You definitely need a car with high clearance and all or 4WD. The roads are rough, so plan to take it slow. High Grove Road is worse than a washboard. I actually prefer the dips and ruts of the other roads, lol. Space is great. Quite, lots of stars. Ended up being there in a snow storm and it was the perfect excuse to curl up on the couch, with the wood stove blazing and a book. Exactly what I wanted. Wished I had had longer to stay there. "
