"I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Malmaison Oxford in Cell Room 128, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! This boutique hotel, set in a beautifully converted Victorian prison, blends historic charm with modern luxury in the most captivating way. Room 128, a cozy yet stylish space, was a perfect mix of quirky and comfortable. The original cell features, like the heavy door and stone walls, gave it a unique vibe, while the plush king-size bed, mood lighting, and sleek en-suite with a powerful shower made it feel indulgent. It was spotlessly clean, quiet, and the ideal retreat after exploring Oxford’s nearby sights. The highlight of my stay, though, was the bar experience, thanks to the incredibly talented mixologist, Sam. His creativity and passion for cocktails were unmatched! Sam crafted us some of the most delicious and inventive drinks from the extensive cocktail menu, each one a masterpiece. He was friendly, engaging, and took the time to chat about his craft, making the evening feel special. The staff were warm and attentive throughout. The hotel’s location in the Castle Quarter is unbeatable—steps from Oxford’s shops, and restaurants. My stay in Cell Room 128 was a perfect blend of history, luxury, and exceptional service, elevated by Sam’s mixology magic. Unique experience waking up in jail on my birthday......for me anyway!!! Five stars all the way."

"Great hotel in a great location. The hotel is in very good condition. service for breakfast was excellent. we did not have the same experience for dinner when the team both on the bar and in the restaurant were not aware of customers waiting. There needs to be stronger leadership on the evening service. Dinner was Ok for £145 for 3 having 3 courses, this feels steep for average food."

"Lovely hotel, comfortable beds, staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was buffet style and one of the nicest buffet breakfasts we have had, with a very good range of options. We also used the pool, poolside jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There are towels in the spa area for you to use and shampoo, conditioner and shower wash in the changing room showers. There are also lockers which you use a PIN code to lock, so no change needed. We walked into Oxford along the Thames river path and enjoyed not being right in the centre. It took us around 15 minutes to get into Oxford and probably only 10 minutes to get the Christ College from the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel had everything we needed, as well as enabling us to relax after a long day of sightseeing. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. "
