The Basilica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato is an immense Catholic cathedral recognizable by the features of its façade, including six imposing Doric columns. It has elegant twin towers and an ornate interior in line with 17th-century Italian Baroque design. Construction began on this structure in the 16th century and it was finally completed in the 1700s. Admire the neoclassical frontage, added in the 19th century.

Find the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato in the heart of Genoa’s historic center. Arrive at the Darsena metro station and walk northeast for 5 minutes to get to the church. Take a bus to a stop beside the basilica or get here on foot from nearby sights, such as the Palazzo Balbi Senarega, the Museo di Palazzo Reale and the Galata Museo del Mare.
