"Beautiful old hotel, well kept up. Extraordinarily friendly and responsive staff. Large rooms, well appointed. They serve wine and snacks in the lobby at 5, gratis, and have excellent coffee available 24/7 (in the lobby, not in the rooms). You have to go down to the basement to get ice; other than that, I can't think of anything remotely bad to say. It's a block from Powell's Bookstore and surrounded by restaurants and bars. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Portland since I discovered this hotel."

"I was sailing for a awhile and got to Portland. During the Rose Fest and picked your hotel due to its 5 star amenities. I endulged at the bar 3 to 4 times loved the walk in shower and view of the Japanese Mountain side was phenomenal. Being right downtown allowed to enjoy in all the festivities."

"This is a lovely spot alongside a big pond with ducks and swallows and herons. The only drawback is the restaurant. It has a beautiful view but food quality is not great and service orientation is missing. "
