"Intimate hotel for a couples break. Fabulous interior and excellent outside area. Staff friendly and could not do enough for us. Restaurant is amazing. Room was brilliant - the hairdryers are Dyson for goodness sake - no expense spared! "

"On one side, this hotel looks out over a car park, on the other side over the sea or the harbour + abbey. You pay extra for views, but it is worth it: it is the best view you are going to get anywhere in Whitby. As for the hotel itself: it is showing its age, but has been well maintained e.g. updated bathrooms, beds are comfortable and exceptionally large. Good restaurant too. We were very happy there. Only minor complaint is no thermostatic valve on the showers. Other than that, this hotel is excellent."
