The Chiesa del Gesù e dei Santi Ambrogio e Andrea contains a fantastic array of acclaimed paintings. Dating back to the 6th century, this is one of the oldest churches in Genoa. It was reconstructed in the late 16th century with a Baroque style, while the façade was rebuilt in 1894. Examine the iconic works by Peter Paul Rubens among the many other pieces that adorn the walls.

Ride a bus to a stop in the district or take the metro to the De Ferrari station on the adjacent plaza. The church is free to enter and is open to the public daily from morning until noon and again from late afternoon until evening. After your visit relax in the marvelous Piazza Matteotti and enjoy a hot drink at a local café. Gaze up at the lavish Ducal Palace, the Curia Arcivescovile Di Genova and the G.
