Professional actors known as the Imaginators put on an unforgettable spectacle, leading your kids through a maze of games and exhibits.

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is a fun, hands-on center that will keep your kids curious and entertained for hours. Its labyrinth of play spaces and puzzles is designed to challenge the minds of young children. On a visit to the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, introduce your little ones to the Imaginators, who will guide them through the exhibits.

Head through the Fundamentally Food section to collect fruit and vegetables from the farm and put delivery boxes on the truck. Your kids can pretend to work in the café and rush through the grocery store with a shopping cart. Take them through the Gateway to the World and watch them learn about the globe and play with a rocket launcher.

Connect the pipes that run through the house in the Tools for Solutions section, which has a thrilling ball machine and laboratory. In Step Up To Science, visitors find out about the human body and use remarkable technology. Bring children to paint in the Let Your Creativity Flow area and let the little ones climb through the treehouse in the Leaping into Learning part.

Attend the 20-minute musicals and short acting performances that bring the museum to life. Check the online schedule for the programs and temporary exhibits taking place here. These include Homeschool Day, the Friday Jam Session and the regular Doc McStuffins Program.

The museum is open Thursday through Tuesday, from morning until late afternoon. Purchase admission tickets at the door or look for discounted prices online.

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is in a zone packed with museums and entertainment venues on the northern side of Downtown Atlanta. Ride the tram to the Centennial Olympic Park stop or get the metro to the Civic Center station, a short walk from the site.

While you’re in this district, check out neighboring attractions such as the World of Coca-Cola, the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the Georgia Aquarium.
