"On the whole, a nice hotel. Fantastic staff, always helpful. There were a few issues that let the hotel down. Carpet on ground floor corridor to rooms was loose and tended to bunch up. This would be a trip hazard to those not steady on their feet. The carpet in our room (63) was stained in a number of places, and was looking tired. The door to our room did not close due to rubbing on the carpet. The door to the toilet made a tremendous squeel when shutting and opening. There were stains on the...

"The hotel is well placed for the traveler. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. There is a good choice for breakfast, With a bar and restaurant you can enjoy a casual drink and food during your stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Free parking onsite is a great bonus as you seem to have to pay almost everywhere else. My only gripe is that we had an executive room with very poor WiFi connection. This does not detract from a very nice stay and we will look forward to returning next...

I had booked an alternative on the High Street, but cancelled and plumped instead for North Hill Hotel having read their review. Our first time to this area so enjoyed some river walks and hearing interesting history of Rowhedge gleaned from the very friendly locals. We only had a short stay but got a lot in , including a trip to Wivenhoe on the riverside opposite. Will definitely rebook next time we are 'out East' ."
