Coral Springs Museum of Art

Tour this museum for an artistic interpretation of the area. Exhibitions and displays are inside and outside in a peaceful setting within the city.

Walk through the rooms and grounds of the Coral Springs Museum of Art to be exposed to a showcase of local artists’ interpretations of nature and lifestyles in southern Florida. Exhibits are routinely changed to allow a broad spectrum of talent to receive public awareness. Since 1997, many local artists have been featured, as well as visiting international exhibits of Toulouse-Lautrec, Royo, Dale Chihuly, Wolf Kahn and many other famed artists.

The genre of exhibitions is typically traditional, modern and post-modern. Art continues from inside rooms to an outdoor space known as the International Peace Garden. Absorb the beauty of this area from one of the benches and appreciate the blend of nature with art. One such outdoor display is a 54-foot by 17-foot (16-meter by 5-meter) ceramic tile mural depicting the natural wonders of South Florida’s Everglades. A coveted seat in the garden is an oversized mosaic chair that’s included in the exhibition of equally large orange slices and a creative piece by Yoshin Ogata titled Mindscape.

As well as being a cultural attraction, the museum serves as a learning art center for area schools, with programs for all ages. The museum uses art for rehabilitative purposes for veterans with PTSD and for others who have experienced trauma. Seniors benefit from the art to help cope with memory loss, while autistic children increase their cognitive and emotional development through targeted programs. Take a guided tour to be introduced to the museum’s comprehensive programs and for an enriching description of the pieces.

Find the Coral Springs Art Museum in the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Coral Springs Drive. The museum is accessible and has free parking. Children under 5 years old are admitted free, while those 6 to 17 years old, college students and seniors receive a discount.

The museum is closed on holidays, as well as Sundays and Mondays. Ask whether any special activities are occurring during your stay these may include a visit by an artist to discuss his or her work.
