" My girlfriend and I as well as my two friends stayed on vacation for the week of November, 30th to December, 7th 2024. From the moment that we checked in at the lobby, the staff at the front desk were very friendly and extremely courteous. This is the oldest hotel on Curacao and some of the history is on display with old photos and paintings in the lobby. Wonderful architecture and the layout of this resort is amazing. Our hotel room had plenty of space, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing. Perfect water pressure and the unit had plenty of shelf, closet and drawer space. We had a small balcony that looked out over the pool and ocean. The room had a safe, mini-fridge and plenty of bathroom space. We were always well stocked with linens and towels. A nice touch is that they provide you with sunblock and inset repellent. For a point of reference, my group stayed at the Octagon Standard on the fourth floor. As far a restaurant options are concerned, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Pen Restaurant and Terrace and snacks at the Schooner Bar. The staff at both facilities were very attentive and friendly. We didn’t get the chance to dine at the Blues Restaurant because it wasn’t open to suit our schedule. The only critique that I have is that less expensive options for breakfast and lunch aren’t available. What I really loved and enjoyed was the layout of the two beaches at Avila. Amazing snorkeling and over too crowded. "

"Family mini-vacation the week before Christmas in there premium villas with a pool. Check in was seemless and the front desl staff was friendly and accommodating. The villa was chic and private and just the right setting for our family. The onsite restaurant, Karakter had delicous gf breakfast offerings and desserts! I did not have the chance to sample their gf pizza, because they were out of gf pizza dough, but check in with them in the mornings to find out what they have available if you have celiac or a gluten sensitivity. Please be patient, as all of the food at all of the restaurants is prepared fresh and takes time. The villa was well appointed and pretty clean. We loved having our private apartment upstairs in a separate unit from out 2 young adult chldren who had an entire unit to themselves downstairs. Morning views of both the pool and ocean from our 2nd story terrace were amazing. Truly relaxing."

"First time in Curacao for vacation. Came to celebrate my #50 birthday. The Mangrove Beach property is beautiful. Very well maintained, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Many dining options and the Main Buffet offer a different theme for food each night. If you don’t mind waiting for service in the reservation restaurants have a try. The pool is nicely laid out and the beach is calm. We were able to walk to Willemstad from our hotel to the floating bridge and to the streets filled with artwork,etc. Rent a car for a day and see the whole island. Would stay here again! "
