"We recently returned from a 2-night stay at the Cambria Hotel. This is a new hotel and it is quite beautiful. Although not on Main Street in downtown Lake Placid, the walk to get there was roughly 20 minutes, with the Olympic Oval being another 10 minutes or so. We love to walk, so this was not an issue for us. Plus we didn't have to hassle with parking. The hotel receptionist who checked us in was warm and courteous. "It’s a motor lodge - we had a nice large room overlooking some of the high peaks . Room is large and you can control the heat. Mattress is firm but not overly so. Nice hairdryer and bathroom in general. Very clean. Carpeted (brown probably a good choice!) - might be useful to have a boot tray this time of year. "

"If you like a room that smells humid and like an old cigarette, this is a place for you. The room hasn’t been upgraded in a generation and the shower had water damage and black mold on the ceiling. The pool and hottub were shut down, and looked like they had been for a while.
