"The rooms are comfortable and had all the facilities you would want. The rooms are a little tired but with such a busy island you’ll only be sleeping and showering in it. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming including to our dog who they treated like royalty. Evening meal very good and breakfast which I paid for in advance was impressive. Great location. A little noisy at pub closing time but should be expected as I booked a hotel above a pub!!! Would recommend for all"

"Everything about this hotel is first class. We had a superior room with sea view and balcony. Very spacious, plenty of storage space, lovely small extra touches such as fresh milk in the fridge. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, really excellent food. Also good facilities such as pool, sauna, games room and lovely gardens. One of the best English hotels we have stayed in"

"Small hotel in a converted building. Great décor and fantastic views of the Minster and square. Perfect location just 2 mins from the bus station and all local amenities. Clean rooms and towels. Free water, hot drinks and toiletries. Terrestrial TV. Massive bathroom. The huge bath would benefit from some hand rails as difficult to get in and out and very slippery! The shower was powerful. There are no staff on site so you need to call a mobile number if you need anything - we did not so all good. A delicious and generous hot breakfast was served in the Wheatsheaf pub (right opposite the hotel). I would definitely return to this hotel and Newport is the perfect location to discover the island."
