"The hotel was great realy... our only moan is the steep staircase to the second floor, where unfortunately for us was where our room was. We are both elderly. Other than that it was a lovely place with lovely staff and a great breakfast."

"The staff were friendly & welcoming, the hotel was mostly clean but some areas of the room had been poorly cleaned. My issue is with the decor of the room. Bare concrete walls are not conducive to a welcoming, comfortable stay, no matter what artistic crap reason you give for stinting on the decorating. The lighting was dingy & swallowed by the heavy, dark walls. Coupled with the extremely small size of the room it felt like a prison cell. It's a shame as the bathroom was great & the staff...

"A very pleasant stay in a beautiful castle . Olde worlde and dated but felt the 12th century ambience all around me. Staff very friendly. "

"What friendly staff!!! Everyone was so helpful and chatty. Lovely menu with daily specials, chef's specials and normal pub grub. Nice atmosphere too as it is down a country lane, but locals were eating and drinking there. Will stay there again the next time we are in the areaQ"

"Property a bit tired looking however, spotlessly clean and staff where friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with everything we needed although the lighting was rather dim. Small bathroom but adequate and great, powerful shower with constant hot water. Bed large and comfy. Room very quiet and warm. We ate evening meal in the pub, lovely food at reasonable price with varied menu. We also had breakfast, again, lovely food and a good choice. We would stay here again. "
