"The property look like it is not maintained. The sliding pool was gross and not working. Trash cans were all ran over. The dumpsters at the end were nasty. Trash everywhere. "

"Loved the location, layout and design of property. I would have given it 5 stars, exceptfor the fact that the sofa bed mattress was covered with dog hair and filth from outside. There was also a spot under the sofa of dog barf/pee that needs to be cleaned up. Otherwise, we absolutely loved the place. The deck over river was so nice. I do think their homeowners association really needs to clean up the exterior of the building, and do a total paint job,. Why pay hoa fees if some doesn't go...

"Our host, Bonnie, was very responsive and accommodating. The cabin was peaceful, comfortable and situated in great location- private enough but also close enough to walk to town. We would definitely recommend! "

"There is nothing more relaxing than walking into a cabin and noting how clean and well-apportioned the place is. From making our reservation to our stay to our eventual departure, the hosts made sure we were well taken care of, and that care allowed us to enjoy the Helen GA area...the shops, restaurants, sights, local trails, and other attractions. The cabin is set back from a creek, has a firepit and picnic table to enjoy, and is just a short walk to the center of town. Our stay was filled...

"The only issue I experienced was due to having a large truck. The driveway was steep and hard to turn around on. A little description of that would have been helpful to prepare. "

"Our cabin in a gated community outside Helen GA was very clean and convenient to Helen and quiet. There was a spacious living room kitchen with a gas fireplace and a hot tub. The only issue was that the hot tub never got above 75 degrees"

"The cabin is secluded, quiet, and peaceful. The views are just like described in the description. Location is just far enough out of town to be convenient. Host was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this property."

"Beautiful place to stay. But you need to get better mattresses. Both bedrooms. All of us hike and it makes for a long day with no sleep . We would love to come back for a longer stay if the beds were better. And a mouse chewed up my sons backpack. Thank you again"

"I don't typically write reviews whether i approve or not of places we stay BUT i was so pleased with this little place for my husband and I, i said id do my first one. Location is perfect and only a brief walk to middle of town, less than 10 mins. Im a bit ocd with cleanliness so its ALWAYS what i notice first. I didnt find the first thing that wasnt clean. All the silverware was evenly nicely organized and clean..I didnt feel the need to wash anything before using it. Bathrooms veey clean...

"We were 7 women for a hiking holiday. The Woodland Lodge was very comfortable with all the amenities, including hot tub which we used after our long hikes. Helen was full of excitement with Octoberfest!"

Weekend Getaway

"We thorough enjoyed our stay at Hertzen Platz. Gary was an amazing host. The breakfast and treats he offers were spectacular and I'd highly recommend taking advantage of that. It was nice to not have to cook in the morning, and not spend restaurant prices for quality food out ech day. We came in with the idea that we would be a step up from primitive camping, but still indeed camping. It was nice not having to spend the time setting up and packing up. We were close enough to town to venture into Helen, and also central to many awesome waterfalls and nature trails. The temperatures were cold, in the mid 40s during the day, 30s at night. We were able to keep the tent warm and sleep comfortably with a camping heater and extra blankets. We did not bare the outdoor shower with the cold temps, but only being 3.5 hrs away from home we were okay with that for just the weekend. "

"Great location, clean & updated rooms. Best pork chop my partner has ever had at the restaurant. Sky Bar has a nice open air feel with a view of the mountains surrounding the property. Having a car is nearly a must if you will be in town late as there are very few drive shares in the area. The walk from town to the hotel is mostly uphill and we almost had to resort to that one night. It took 20 mins to get a driver to accept our ride."

"Lovely staff at check in and handled our noise complaint without question. Apparently the kids above us thought it was WWE most of the night. Rooms are fine. Bathrooms are fine. Everything is a bit dated, but when you just came out of their Oktoberfest month you can't expect things to be perfect. No bugs or mold seen in our room. Beds comfy."
