"First off, I hate big shiny resorts. This building if rather old and is showing her age. If you are a resort/cruise ship kind of person, this may not be the place for you. The staff was super helpful whenever I needed anything. It is close enough to the Malecon that it is an easy walk down, but a requires a bit more effort on the way up the hill. The payoff is great views of Bay of Banderas. As many have stated, the beds are rather hard, but bearable."

"Room and bed were comfortable. Surprisingly quiet for the city, we were expecting much more noise. Breakfast was simple yogurt granola fruit and toast. We thought we would, but never used the pool because it was shady and cold. But very close to the beach and restaurants, even tried the restaurant, Kitty Cat, which I highly recommend! Roof top was enjoyable with a little view of the ocean. Place is a little dated but we assumed this. Was perfectly comfortable and affordable for our needs. "

"We normally stay at a full service resort, and tried this option this visit. It was great. Smaller, quieter and more flexible for a longer stay. The rooftop made you feel you had a private pool and BBQ area all to yourself. Would definitely recommend. The only downside was not having full service. Would definitely recommend."

"This was our first stay at the Westin AND WE WILL BE BACK! The resort is directly across the street from the Marina which offers many, many dining options. The pools are beautiful (although I hate getting up early to claim pool chairs with a towel but such is life in Mexico). The beach is small but walkable and beautiful. The room was clean with a nice partial ocean view. Restaurants on property are so-so but again there are better choices across the street at the Marina. Can't wait to go back!"

"I enjoyed everything about my stay. The only complaint I have is that the bottles of alcohol in the rooms were not replaced as is mentioned in the little plaque. I am only a gin drinker and the bottle upon arrival was almost empty. I asked about getting a new bottle and it never was replaced. Also, bring your own conditioner. They have a soap that is both body wash and shampoo. There was also no lotion. Otherwise, everything was great. "

Enjoyable place to relax

"We really enjoyed our stay! The pool and beach were both good places to relax and enjoy the ocean, and there were plenty of chairs in both locations with canopies. Also, no bugs at the beach. Wonderful! The food was good for breakfast and lunch, but we opted to go to the marina, which had better food for dinner. The lighthouse is a great dinner spot! We felt safe walking to the marina area, which I found to be a big plus of staying here in Puerta Vallarta. (Feeling comfortable to go off property.) It is very close to the airport, so planes are frequently in the air. The noise didn’t bother me, but it’s definitely noticeable. "
