Florencia Hotel Guide - Hotels with Pool in Florencia, Alajuela Province

"We stayed here recently with a group of 5 and really enjoyed our stay. The resort itself is very beautiful. The rooms were lovely and spacious, with a fantastic view. The A/C in the rooms were great. The resort had a couple areas to explore, like a frog sanctuary, hummingbird gallery, and a hiking trail. Just be careful as the hummingbird gallery is the the end of the hiking trail, so we ended up going through the hiking trail while we were exploring the hummingbird gallery area. We had the free breakfast and dinner at the resort and found the food to be delicious. Travelling around the resort there are steep hills but you can request transportation if needed. Our journey towards the resort is very uphill and windy, so those who get car sick may be affected. The resort itself is quite close to Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. You can walk from the resort. Keep in mind that the walk will be quite uphill but doable. One thing to note- on our last day of our stay we had an issue with flying ants which are common in Costa Rica. There were A LOT of them in all 3 of our rooms. The staff explained that this is common in Costa Rica and that they are completely harmless but are more of an annoyance. They helped us kill a lot of the flying ants. We found turning off the lights and blocking off the windows and doors with towels helped. "

"Absolutely beautiful property. We stood in the Smithsonian room. Absolutely gorgeous view of the volcano. Room as described. Our only regret was not reserving a room with mini fridge. No AC as described but it was not needed. Everyone was absolutely attentive and always ready to answer questions. We ate most of our meals in the restaurant preferring to stay nearby to relax. Yes the road is rough for the first mile entering the property but well worth the ride! We didn’t want to leave! We hope to return to spend more than the 3 nights we booked. "

"You cannot beat the views from the property. Staff was super friendly and food was really good. They have a good breakfast with variety of options. It is about 10 minutes from town so you would need a car or to get a taxi every time you go. Ubers are cheaper. Room was great and spacious, my kids loved the jacuzzi in the room. The only downside is that the tv is out of date and small."

"Wow, it’s a great gem. Asked for the upgrade and got it. Room was immaculate. Pool was clean and they are renovating the hot tub/spa area. That will be amazing and like new in a couple of weeks. Food was outstanding also."
