"The staff here was really nice, the rooms definitely need some updating! Our room was pretty tight and smelled pretty bad when we walked in and then our wifi was really weak (nonexistent) in our room so they did relocate us to another room...smelly free and good wifi but again very small and dated. This was a pricey stay for a hotel that doesn't give you complementary breakfast, no mini fridge in room or microwave, no elevator and unfortunately nothing to do around the hotel that you can walk...

"Although the hotel is a bit tired it served our needs at a good price. Location is good, not quite close enough to town for walking. Limited menu and stops serving at 8pm. Food was reasonable cost and quality. "

"The location is absolutely stunning, the welcome is warm and the house cat is gorgeous - and Queen of this particular castle. The hotel is beautiful but also quirky. Our room, the Emperor room was nicely decorated in dark green with a big antique cupboard. There’s a lovely view, only very slightly obscured by the conservatory. Perfect location, perfect base to explore, great accommodation, super friendly staff (the girl in reception is delightful) and landscape that is hard if not impossible to beat.
