"The hotel more than met our expectations. Our family of 4 stayed in the room on the 4th floor and it had plenty of room for all of us. Would definitely stay again."

"Great stay all round. The staff was very helpful and happy to speak English, after we initially tried to converse in some (very poor) French. They pointed out the things to do and places to see. The only slight concern was that the night receptionist did not know they had synthetic pillows (as one of us is asthmatic and the existing feather pillows could have caused respiratory issues). However, after pointing it out in their handbook in the room, she quickly resolved it by finding two pillows for us to use. Very comfortable bed - had a good sleep! It was also beautiful to see the city in the glow of the morning sun. We didn’t have breakfast, but The Club was available for complementary snacks and drinks outside of breakfast hours. Thanks for a great stay!"
"Great location and overall a pleasant stay.
The hotel is centrally located yet quiet, just a short walk from the Old Town and public transport. The room was spacious, very clean, and had a beautiful view of the Lyon theater.
There is no elevator, and guests must climb a few flights of stairs to reach the lobby and rooms — something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage.
Although there is no air conditioning, a fan and portable cooling unit were provided and worked well.
The receptionist, Marcia, was highly professional, kind, and always helpful — she truly added a positive touch to the experience.
I mentioned in advance that I was visiting for my birthday, but there was no welcome note or birthday gesture, which would have been a nice touch.
Still, the hotel offers great value for money, and I would consider staying again."
"Our stay was great. I would have liked a fridge in the room. It is a beautiful, old hotel with a lot of character. I would have preferred hardwood in our room from a cleanliness point of view. The breakfast was good and the staff were great. We also had dinner in the restaurant, which was terrific. "
"The staff was incomparable! So incredibly helpful and accommodating! Anne was very thoughtful, friendly and, above all, helpful!! The A/C in our room did not work and it was extremely hot, so we were moved to another room with EXCELLENT air conditioning and we were super grateful!! Thank you, Villa Florentine!"
"We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent for many things to do in Lyon. I wouldn’t have known about this except for helpful reviews so I wanted to add another because it’s a much nicer place to stay than some of the large chain hotels in the area."
"We stayed with a larger group (our family + grandparents = 7 people) and appreciated the family suites- they came with two full bathrooms and a door that separated the sleeping areas. They were spacious and provided enough room for 2 adults and 1-2 kids to move around in easily. We appreciated the espresso machines/coffee as well as option to refill water pitchers with sparkling or still water from dispenser in lobby. Hotel is affiliated with the College Hotel across the street and this allowed us to do breakfast at their buffet; the Academie has a smaller breakfast set up that requires pre-notice; the buffet across the street was ample and had great staff as well. The location was ideal- right at the top of Vieux Lyon, where you'll find bouchons, shopping and access to the subway to get to all the other sights! Le Fines Gueules (bouchon) should not to be missed and just steps from the hotel's door. "
