Castanheiro Boutique Hotel

9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (470)
"This was our second stay at the hotel, this time with friends, who enjoyed their visit as much as we did. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There was a good choice of food for the vegetarians in the group. The facilities and rooms were excellent. The location is ideal. I'm hoping we'll be able to visit again!"

Castanheiro Boutique Hotel
Hotel Porto Santa Maria
4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (433)
"All well but heavy cigarette smoke and smell in the room from chimney neighbors. Looks like many Europeans are all chain smoker's! Staff apologized but the law is not in their favor - nor in favor of nonsmoking guests. At time we had to run the AC at full strength and keep the slider open. Other that - beautiful place, great service and great people! "

Santa Maria - Hostel
1.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (96)
"This is, by far, one of the best hostels that I’ve been. Everything is so pretty! The building is vintage (with an interesting background history), and the location is excellent (in the heart of the historic center). The hosts were super friendly and helpful, especially Cristina. The room was very spacious, tidy, and peaceful. The kitchen was great and fully operational. I only experienced a problem with the window (that wasn’t opening) but apart from that, everything was absolutely smooth....

Rochinha’s house with fabulous views over the bay of funchal
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (45)
"Good communication with Carolina, close to the old town approx 15-20 min walk to cable car, there is a very steep walk back to the property. Unfortunately due to storm Oscar we weren’t able to use the pool. But the garden is surprisingly private. Property was clean and comfortable We used a taxi driver called Nuno, recommended by Carolina to collect us from the airport, he also took us on a lovely day tour around the north of the island, then back to the airport. The restaurants recommended by...

Hotel Windsor
4.0 star property
7.2 out of 10, Good, (190)
"It was very central for the town of Funchal. The room had everything and the lady on reception was very very helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast could have been warmer and the restaurant kept odd hours and didn't feel like it was part of the hotel. As you are in the heart of the town you have to expect noise at night from residents living nearby"

APARTAMENTO OCEAN CLIFF
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (33)
"Large, clean apartment with beautiful back yard/terrace. Very close to ocean and cliff side walks. Hugo was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful. Area is a bit far from old town, but we walked it multiple times. We wanted to be out of Funchal core for easier road trips to other areas of Madeira. Shopping and restaurants all near by. Totally enjoyed our trip and stay at Hugo's!"
