The Horseshoe’s location and price were great, and the room was nice and large with a renovated bathroom, good storage, and comfortable bed BUT: 1) The check-in line was horrible; although we had prechecked on the app so we didn’t have to wait, the next morning when we were getting coffee 12/27/24 at 8 a.m. we heard the guy behind the counter yelling at a guest about holding up the line which was unprofessional and unnerving. 2) Smoke permeated our non-smoking room and made my wife miserable. 3) Maid service was mediocre, since a) there was no shampoo; b) the doors and some other surfaces were sticky; and c) no one came to clean our room even though we had chosen “Yes” at check-in for housekeeping service. 4) We were also disappointed in the lack of clear paths and signage for getting around the hotel and the substandard but expensive food options.
