"I booked a budget stay for work and was pleasantly surprised with the standard of the hotel. I had a single room which came with a comfortable single bed, new carpet and had been freshly painted. The fixtures are clearly quite old but looks to have been freshened up and everything worked. The highlight was the (included) breakfast!! The range was huge and the cooked food top notch. The sausages were especially good. The value for money is the best I have had from a hotel in years. Will definitely stay again!"

"Nice room, standard size hotel room, but beds are good. Bar and restaurant are nice. Probably good to check if there’s a wedding on, obviously this is a wedding hotspot, two on during our stay but we weren’t really affected by them."

"Staff refused to add my IHG awards number to the reservation, they claimed that they've never done it and it wasn't available in the reservation. The area is under reconstruccion, so the hotel is very difficult to access, the parking is a real nightmare to find"

"Convenient location for Dumfries and as a one night stop over for onward travel to Edinburgh. Staff very friendly and helpful and easy car parking. Room was basic but had everything we needed for one night. If you want breakfast get a voucher from reception first (rather than going straight to restaurant) as you’ll get a price reduction."
